Training is available for all mandated reporters in New York State at no cost to participant.
The New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS)
operates the New York Statewide Central Register for Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR),
where mandated reporters are required to report suspected child abuse and maltreatment.
This training provides every New York State Mandated Reporter with the knowledge and skills to be able to:
- Effectively report child abuse or maltreatment/neglect to the New York Statewide Central Register for Child Abuse and Maltreatment
- Evaluate situations to determine whether there is reasonable cause to suspect child abuse or maltreatment
- Identify the physical and behavioral indicators commonly associated with child abuse and maltreatment
Note:
Mandated Reporters who require licensure or certification through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED)
are required to take mandated reporter training from a trainer who has been approved by
